My bunny

My Bunny, rhyming picture book by Justin Davis, “follows Millie, a young girl who just loves her bunny – so much so that he must go everywhere with her. The trouble is, he keeps going missing!”

This charming story is aimed at children aged 5 and under, so it was important to create fun, eye-catching illustrations that young children can be entertained by as the story is being read to them. The “My Bunny” rhyme, which is repeated multiple times throughout the book, creates a very playful tone to the story. Combining a few elements of realistic textures and details with a very bold, simplistic drawing style created an aesthetic that reflected this playful tone whilst keeping a cosy, traditional feel at it’s core.

‘Excellent on many levels. It was sweet in parts, the ending was fab and the rhyming and language were well thought out.’ Primary school teacher, aged 32

‘Rhythm was very strong, rhyming generally ok but a bit forced in parts. Drawings were colorful, and my children enjoyed them. The description of the bunny was wonderful; the kids loved that, and they all drew their own picture.’ Primary teacher, aged 34

‘I liked the bunny the best. It’s important not to forget where your teddy is.’ Girl, aged 6

‘I read this with my mum all week and enjoyed it a lot. The story is very, very sweet and so is the bunny. I want to read other books by this writer.’ Boy, aged 7
